Hi! My name is Heather, and I am an independent editor in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I live here with my husband, two dogs, two cats, and one axolotl. It’s a full house! When I am not editing, I am likely reading, baking, or out enjoying nature.
I was lucky enough to grow up in a world where I could see myself in the things I watched and read. Having representation of all kinds is absolutely vital, and something I am passionate about participating in.
I have been a book lover for as long as I can remember. Even before I could read, I was obsessed with the look of the words on the pages, the pictures on and between the covers, the worlds my mother’s voice transported me to… Then, when I learned to read, I couldn’t stop! I distinctly remember my fourth grade teacher going to the store after school one day to buy new books for our classroom library, because I had read through all of her books already. Thanks, Mrs. Scott! I take this passion for reading I have had my whole life and devote it to my clients’ manuscripts, as well.
My goal is to take the amazing worlds you create and strengthen them, while maintaining your voice.
I am not just working with passion. I attended a two-year program and have a Certificate in Editing from University of California, San Diego and the Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing.
